Doppler and Baby Kicks

When I started this, I really thought I would post much more often. I've always been this way with diaries and journals though. I start them with the best of intentions, but don't stick with it. I believe I will stick with this. I just may not post as often.

I am such a worrier with this pregnancy. My poor child doesn't know what's coming. I can imagine if I'm like this now, I will be that much worse once our little Doodlebug is here. I have really been worrying about my stomach not growing as much as I think it should be. I am a little obsessed with the message boards on What to Expect.com and some of the ladies on there have such big bellies already. Everyone says not to worry, but again, I can't help it.

My next appointment is Nov. 26th, the Monday after Thanksgiving. That is two weeks, but seems like forever, so I talked to John about renting a doppler to hear the baby's heartbeat. He wasn't really for it and thinks it might just make me worry more if I can't find it. I told him I think it will do just the opposite. He said if it would make me happy, ok. The added bonus is that my family will be here next week and can hear it! I ordered it today. It should be here Thursday.

About an hour after I ordered it, I THINK I might have felt the baby move for the first time. I know it is kind of early. I am only 13 weeks, so I don't know if it really was or not. I have noticed though, that I am a little bigger on my right side than my left and right next to my belly button, I felt a little flutter for about 3 seconds. Again, I don't know if that was it, but that's kind of what everyone had been telling me it would feel like. And I wasn't even thinking about it, so it wasn't like I was just wanting it to happen.

Well, I have rambled on enough for today. Signing off...

First post

This is my first post to our blog. I think this will be a good place to keep a journal and share events, pictures, etc. with family and friends. Today is October 31st, Halloween. We are expecting lots of trick-or-treaters tonight for candy. We also have some friends coming over with their dog to play with Whitney. Hopefully this will keep her from going crazy when the doorbell rings.

We are doing well with the pregnancy. Cramps are a daily occurrence as well as backaches, but I can handle it. We are sooo looking forward to our little doodlebug coming on May 20th. Yay! I'm already starting to show, though I don't think anyone other than John and I would know it yet.

Well, I think that's good for the first post. See ya!
